Forest to Sea: Sunshine Coast Mountains to the Beach

Pick-up/return to Cruise Ship or Accommodation! Small, personal fully guided tour of the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland. So much in one day! Drive 40 minutes north through a variety of forests and pretty farmland. We pride ourselves in catering to what you want to see!

Feel like strawberries? Drop in and Pick Your Own! (May-October) Drive up to Montville and Maleny Mountain Villages: cafes, arts and craft. Time for lunch and browsing. Enjoy great rainforest walk to view Kondalilla Falls pools, Mapleton Falls. Fabulous photo opportunities with scenery and lookouts from the escarpment over glorious Glasshouse Mountains: extinct volcanoes named by Captain Cook. Visit Mary Cairncross Park and Environmental Centre to see their valuable forest conservation work. Wildlife! Learn the aboriginal stories of these places.

Visit the cheese works or winery and sample the local produce. Go off the beaten track and visit two genuine unusual Aboriginal Sites. They then sweep down to a Beach Drive via Maroochydore, A play or stroll on the beach at pretty Caloundra. So much to see, but very relaxing with time to explore, swim or shop. Brisbane Mountains Madness: Brisbane Hinterland

Pick up and return from Roma Street, your accommodation or cruise ship. A great little get-away tour: Visit the near Brisbane mountain forests of the D'Aguilar State Forest. Drop in on the Mt Nebo Ranger Station with live native animal display: see wallabies, variety of birds and reptiles and even the shy platypus. Visit a series of fabulous lookouts of Brisbane North and Moreton Bay with scenic photo opportunities. Four hours to full day: you pick!

By arrangement, visit two acre Brisbane artists sculpture gardens! Pleasant free picnic tea, try boomerang throwing, enjoy a rainforest walk through heavy forest to Greens Falls viewing platform. Watch out for wildlife. Visit a genuine Aboriginal site, one of the best preserved of it's type in Queensland.

Samford Village quaint country stop. On a Wednesday or Sunday, an additional visit can be made to *Samford Museum. Other days by appointment. (Extends tour to full day). Art and Craft at the Bark Hut. Have a *Beer or Lemonade/Optional Lunch in a classic country pub. View a Flying Fox colony on the way home.

Gold Coast Treasures: Koala Centre, city, beaches, views and forest

Drive one hour south towards Gold Coast with views of Brisbane City and Bridges and past major theme parks. Stop for a real live Koala encounter (sorry no cuddles), learn about Koala protection. On to view Gold Coast lifestyle houses, buildings and canals. Stop off at Main Beach and Surfers Paradise, Cavill Mall with time for a stroll or swim and lunch! Bring your bathing costume!

On to try Whale spotting (July to October only) or take in beautiful coastal views from headlands. Optional SkyTower Views (approximately AUD20).

Walk at Big Burleigh, forested environmental reserve by the sea with a secret beach! Visit genuine Aboriginal ceremonial site of the Yugumbeh / Kombumerri people. Head through farmland and Numinbah valley to visit the Beautiful Natural Arch and waterfall on a rainforest walk. A World heritage-listed protected home of bats and glow-worms.

During Whale Season (June-October) combine a fabulous Whale-watch morning on Spirit of Gold Coast whale-boat, then beach and rainforest tour.

Wildlife spotting, if time and weather permits, swim in mountain creek. Return to Brisbane. Pickup in Roma Street Stop 125, outside transit centre, accommodation or cruise ship. Free morning or afternoon tea.

Whales and Gold Coast

Want to see the Queensland Whales, but tricky to get to? They pick you up in Brisbane, deliver you to the Whale Cruise onboard "Spirit of Gold Coast" (one hour south) for a marvellous morning of whale watching, with a free morning tea. Humpback Whales travel the Queensland coast from about June to mid October. To see these magnificent animals up-close is amazing!! Dolphins are often spotted too. For the afternoon, you join them in their mini bus as they tour the Gold Coast, Burleigh Heads National park sea-side forest walk and Numinbah Natural Arch in the hinterland rainforest. See Gondwana land World heritage area cave and waterfalls. This is home to bats and glow-worms. Then return to Brisbane, a fantastic day. You can do the reverse if you wish an afternoon whale cruise.

If you want to view the whale from a Brisbane-based cruise, they can provide a Brisbane city tour also for the remainder of the day with Mt Coot-tha lookout and gardens. Price on application.

It is popular with families because it is easily accessible with a carpark situated only metres from the beach.The waves at Cylinder are often smaller and therefore it is perfect for sun bathing and swimming during good weather conditions.

Dunwich

Vehicular barges and passenger ferries arrive and depart from Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island. Dunwich is a small relaxed and friendly township, rich in history and culture. Take a heritage trail and visit the many significant sites signposted for visitors.

Shag Rock Dive Site

Shag Rock is located off Brisbane’s North Stradbroke Island and is one of those all-weather sites that is very under-appreciated at times. Surrounding Shag Rock are rocky reefs and coral gardens in depths from six to 20 metres.

Lamb Island

Get away from it all and rest in the peaceful and tranquil waters of Moreton Bay. Lamb Island was known by the Aboriginal people of Moreton Bay as Nguderoo, or paperbark trees. It is the second smallest of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, is easily navigable, has a general store, recreation club and a swimming enclosure for cooling off in the bay waters.

Karragarra Island

Karragarra is a great day-trip destination and is the smallest of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, about half a kilometre wide and four kilometres long. The experience starts with a short water taxi ride from Redland Bay.

Russell Island

Russell Island, Redland City Area
Be greeted by an amazing mosaic masterpiece that will set the mood for your visit to Russell Island, the largest of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands. For fishing, there's a jetty at the northern end of the island, with a nearby fenced swimming enclosure for cooling off on a hot day.

Amity Point

North Stradbroke Island, Redland City Area
On the calm waters of Moreton Bay, Amity Point is located on North Stradbroke Island, the second largest sand island in the world. Located just off the coast of Brisbane, North Stradbroke Island can be accessed by regular passenger and vehicular ferries which depart from mainland Cleveland.
