Hervey Bay est un lieu très prisé, entre juin et novembre, par nos plus grands visiteurs côtiers, les baleines à bosses. Plus de 7000 baleines passent leurs vacances dans la Coast Fraser lors de leur migration de 5000 km de l'Antarctique pour apprendre à leurs bébés baleineaux de belles compétences telles que le saut, le spy hopping, la planche, et toute une série d'autres outils de survie.
