Bicycling Australia has announced its third major Gran Fondo, the Noosa Classic, to be held in the holiday destination of Noosa on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

The Noosa Classic will draw riders from around Australia and overseas to the magnificent Noosa region which is well known as a mecca for sporting events. Noosa offers a diverse and wonderful experience for visitors with beautiful beaches, stunning hinterland and great shopping in a casual environment ... perfect for an extended stay around the Noosa Classic.

Race director Ben Johnson, owner of Johnson Bicycles has designed the Noosa Classic course to showcase Noosa's cycling terrain. The 160 kilometre loop will start at the Girraween Sports Complex in Noosa Heads, with a three kilometre climb out of Noosa Main Beach, then wind through the Noosa hinterland before returning through the Mary Valley, the Noosa country town of Kin Kin, Lake Cootharaba and Boreen Point.

Relax at the end of the Noosa Classic in the event village.

The Noosa Classic will showcase the beauty of Noosa and its hinterland, touching every corner of the Noosa Shire.

Bowen has many creek systems, which hold healthy numbers of Mangrove-jack, Bream, Whiting and Barramundi (closed season Nov -Feb). South of Bowen, you’ll find Adelaide and Duck Creeks, which can be accessed by sea around the top of the tide only, via beach ramps.
