Restaurants and cafes in Brisbane

From fine dining to funky cafes, Brisbane has an abundance of restaurants and cafe's scattered through the city and Brisbane’s inner-city suburbs that are perfect for every palette.

If you’re after world-class dining options with waterfront views of the Story Bridge, opt for one of the award-wining restaurants at Eagle Street Pier. For a more relaxed vibe, head to South Bank’s River Quay, where you can find five renowned restaurants overlooking the Brisbane River. You can also find scrumptious eats at a variety of restaurants in the inner-city suburbs including New Farm, Teneriffe, Fortitude Valley, West End, Paddington and Spring Hill.

The café culture in Brisbane is thriving and everywhere you look you can find great eats and even better coffee. For scrumptious breakfast, lunch or brunch options you are guaranteed to find great bites anywhere along the Brisbane River. West End, Paddington and New Farm also house some of the best cafes in the city and you can walk off your meal by exploring these inner-city precincts post indulgence.

Shopping in Brisbane

Queen Street Mall is the city’s main shopping precinct where you can find everything from department stores to boutique clothing. Queens Plaza and Edward Street are home to luxury designer shops, ranging from Australian brands such as Zimmerman to international labels such as Gucci, Chanel and Ralph Lauren.

James Street in New Farm is a fantastic inner-city shopping precinct dotted with local and international labels. Grab a coffee or lunch at one of the delicious cafes and restaurants along James Street to refuel between shops.

If vintage shopping is more your style, head to Paddington or West End where you can browse the vintage shops for some unique pieces to refresh your wardrobe.

Brisbane nightlife

Brisbane has a booming nightlife scene with new bars popping up regularly around the city. The CBD and Fortitude Valley are the best places to hydrate and hit the dance floor once the sun goes down. Indulge in a cocktail at a rooftop bar as you make the most of the Brisbane’s beautiful weather or enjoy a cold brew at one of Brisbane’s microbreweries or quirky laneway bars.
