Gold Coast Beaches

The Gold Coast is framed by 70 kilometres of coastline dotted with family-friendly, pet-friendly, surf, calm and relaxed beaches. Grab your towel, swimsuit and sunscreen and find your spot on the sand to savour the sun on your skin and salt in your hair.

Popular Gold Coast beaches

Main beach boasts an expansive stretch of white-sand that continues north the Spit. The tourist favourite; Surfers Paradise is framed with pandanus palms and wide-paved boulevard lines, perfect for walking, biking and skateboarding.

Broadbeach is home to a large playground for kids and is a stone’s throw away from the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre. Nobby Beach is a quiet stretch of sand backed by the Gold Coast’s most exclusive address; Hedges Avenue.

Burleigh Beach and the Burleigh Headland are the Coasts’ bohemian-slash-surfy pockets of gold sand with a lush National Park. With stunning views of Surfers Paradise in the distance, this stretch of sand is perfect for a picnic, surf or swim.

Family-friendly beaches

Keep the kids safe and head towards the red and yellow flags signalling a patrolled and safe area to swim.

Head to Broadwater; a great spot for family fun, combining the ideal mix of beach and parklands with picnic and barbeque facilities, children’s playgrounds and shaded areas. Your four legged family members are also welcome here.

Currumbin Beach and Currumbin Creek

With a country feel and residential charm, Currumbin Beach is a playground for little ones. The Currumbin Creek has shallow areas and the creek itself is protected from surf waves. It’s also a perfect place for stand-up-paddle boarding and towards the entrance is a pet-friendly area. So, your furry friends can join in on the fun.

Palm Beach and Tallebudgera Creek

Dolphins are known to wander into Tallebudgera Creek, so you might even get a surprise visit while you’re there. The calmer waters are perfect for little ones to explore and play in the shallows. Palm Beach on the other hand is nestled between Tallebudgera Creek and Currumbin Creek and is home to the Palm Beach Parklands and a pirate themed playground (complete with a pirate ship).
