Only a short drive from the Boyne Valley, Blackmans Gap is the ideal spot to cool down on a hot day. This picturesque natural swimming hole features amazing rock formations, quiet secluded rest areas, perfect for that much needed summer fix. It’s only a short 300 metre walk along the rocky river bank.
Pack a picnic lunch, lots of drinking water, some suitable walking shoes and soak up the pristine environment. The swimming hole is especially fresh after heavy rain.
Blackmans Gap Road connects the Bruce Highway south of Miriam Vale, with the Boyne Valley. At the bottom of the range on the Boyne Valley side, you will find a parking area which is the start of the short walk upstream. Along the rocky river bed there are various pools along the way and culminating in the head pool, deep enough for a decent dip.
Please note: The road over the range is not recommended for Caravans.
