Wattle Gully Retreat is a haven of 50 acres of native bush land and rainforest with a beautiful mountain creek winding through the property. Located in the picturesque Blackall Ranges with the Glasshouse Mountains as its neighbour, this private retreat boasts a beautiful waterfall, cascading rock pools, a bush haven for native animals with wallabies and koalas a regular sighting, and abundant birdlife for the avid birdwatcher.

From couples to small families or large groups, they invite you to enjoy their beautiful property. Misty mountain mornings are stirred by the morning calls of the local bird life. Spirals of smoke rise from the chimneys on cold winter mornings. Enjoy a beautiful rainforest walk or relax with a picnic beside the rock pools along the mountain creek. For a farmstay experience there are animal feeding and other activities. Fishing in the creek makes for a relaxing afternoon. You can enjoy privacy at your cabins or join in the activities - the choice is yours.

Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is a large two-storey country home with six large bedrooms, surrounded by wide verandahs offering beautiful views over the property. Accommodating up to 14 guests, the Farmhouse is a perfect getaway for large groups, wedding accommodation, family reunions and a comfortable senior's getaway. Self-contained with a large fully-equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, a laundry with washer and dryer, two lounge areas, satellite television, DVD/compact disc players, log fireplace, barbecue facilities, indoor and outdoor dining areas. All linen, towels and blankets provided.

Beechtree Cabin

Beechtree Cabin is a two-bedroom cabin with spacious verandahs where you can overlook the goats and alpacas at play, enjoy visits from local birds, and take in panoramic views of the bush in front of you. Accommodating up to five guests, Beechtree Cabin is perfect for small families or a pair of couples. Self-contained with a fully-equipped kitchen, private bathroom, washing machine, lounge area, satellite television, DVD/compact disc player, log fireplace, barbecue facilities, indoor and outdoor dining areas. Rosegum Cottage

Rosegum Cottage is a cosy studio-style cottage located on its own ridge surrounded by native bush for privacy. Visiting birdlife and wallabies are your only intruders. Accommodating up to three guests, Rosegum Cottage is suitable for couples or a family with a small child. Sundown National Park

Visit a bushranger hideout! 'Thunderbolt' who roamed the New England Tableland, had one of his hideouts near Pozieres. Donnelly's Castle, as it is now called, is a rock formation that you can walk between, around and over.

Storm King Dam rests in a picturesque rural setting with many water birds (including pelicans) and is an ideal spot for picnics, water sport and fishing. Fish species include golden perch, murray cod, silver perch, jew and river black fish.

Quart Pot Creek, Stanthorpe

The pretty Quart Pot Creek meanders through granite country and natural bushland, passes through the town of Stanthorpe, and continues out through the south-west, where it meets Spring Creek to form the Severn River.

Glenlyon Dam

Glenlyon Dam is ideal for wildlife viewing and many water sports including skiing, sailing and fishing. Fish species in the dam include Golden Perch, Murray Cod, Silver Perch, Jew and Spangled Perch. Camping sites, cabins and caravans are available at the Glenlyon Dam Tourist Park located at the waters edge.

Stanthorpe

Amiens

Amiens, Southern Downs Area
Amiens is one of the pretty districts in the Granite Belt region, 17 kilometres north-west of Stanthorpe. These days the area is popular for orcharding, wine making and vegetable growing and was first settled by First World War servicemen who had been granted land for fruit growing after returning from war.

Pozieres

Pozieres, Southern Downs Area
The Granite Belt locality of Pozieres is situated about five kilometres west of the New England Highway, with the turn-off to the south of Dalveen. It is a productive fruit and vegetable growing area and also offers easy access to recreation areas such as Donnelly's Castle, Pozieres State Forest and Passchendaele State Forest.

Severnlea

The Southern Downs village of Severnlea, on the highway south of Stanthorpe hasn't changed that much since it was first settled. There is still fruit growing and topaz fossicking, but these days you'll also discover some very good wineries.
