The Kuranda Riverboat operates interpretive river cruises and guided rainforest walks. Enjoy a memorable experience discovering Kuranda’s rainforest flora, fauna and history.

Cruise the tranquil waters of the World's most ancient tropical rainforest on a 45 minute tour on the Barron River in Kuranda. There is a host of wildlife on the river and you may see freshwater crocodiles, snakes, fish, turtles, water dragons and tropical birds. Your tour guide will share his knowledge of the area with you while you relax and take in the beautiful rainforest and take advantage of many photographic opportunities.

Their other tour is the Paradise Kuranda Guided Rainforest Walk, which is followed by tea/coffee and cake. You are taken to a secluded area of rainforest, which is only accessible via the Kuranda Riverboat. Your guide will take you on an interesting and informative walk through the tropical rainforest.

Talk to them about group bookings and special tours outside of their normal tour times, as well as small weddings and other special occasions. Sunset tours are also an option for groups followed by dinner in one of the local Kuranda restaurants.

Kuranda Riverboat Wet Tropics Rainforest Cruise

Cruise the tranquil waters of the World's most ancient tropical rainforest. Enjoy a calm water cruise aboard the Kuranda Riverboat as it takes you on a 45-minute tour on the Barron River in Kuranda. There is a host of wildlife on the river and you may see freshwater crocodiles, snakes, fish, turtles, water dragons and tropical birds. Your tour guide will share their knowledge of the area with you while you relax and take in the beautiful rainforest and take advantage of many photographic opportunities.

Tours depart at 10.45am, 11.45am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

They operate five tours a day, seven days a week. Talk to them about group bookings and special tours outside of their normal tour times. The Kuranda Riverboat can also be hired for small wedding ceremonies.

Paradise Kuranda Guided Rainforest Walk with Light Refreshments

To take part in one of their guided rainforest walks you will hop aboard the Kuranda Riverboat and cross the river to a secluded rainforest clearing where you will be taken on a guided interpretive walk through a section of beautiful tropical rainforest. Sometimes cassowaries are spotted in the rainforest too. Tea/coffee and cake are served in their outdoor rainforest tea room at the end of the walk. Following the tour you will be given tea/coffee and cake before boarding the riverboat again to take you back to their jetty and Kuranda village.

Groups can also enjoy a curry lunch in the rainforest including drinks, followed by a cruise on the Barron River. Talk to them about your requirements for something special like this.

Agincourt Reef, off Port Douglas on the Great Barrier Reef, is a series of many smaller reefs with at least 16 different dive sites. The Channels offer interesting swim-throughs and caves, while The Gardens are renowned for their exceptional abundance of brightly coloured reef fish.

Daintree

Stretching from Daintree Village across the river, the Daintree encompasses Cape Kimberley, Cow Bay, Thornton's Peak, Cooper Creek, Thornton Beach, Noah Valley, Cape Tribulation and the Bloomfield Track to the north.

Turtle Bommie

Turtles are often encountered on the dive sites off Cairns and a good place to encounter one is Turtle Bommie. This magic dive site is located off Saxon Reef, with the terrain made up of coral gardens and a collection of small and large bommies in depths to 15 metres.

Silver City Dive Site

Cairns, Cairns Area
Silver City is a great dive site where divers can explore a network of caves, a maze of bommies and a sheer wall of coral. Located on the western side of Osprey Reef, Silver City is often a good place to encounter silvertip sharks, but far more common are the whitetip reef sharks and grey reef sharks.

Cooktown

Cooktown, Cook Area
With bitumen all the way along the 330 kilometre inland Mulligan Highway from Cairns, Cooktown is easy to get to. If you want a more adventurous route, go four wheel-driving along the coastal Bloomfield Track crossing rivers and creeks through World Heritage-listed rainforest and join the highway at the mysterious pile of rocks known as Black Mountain.

Norman Reef Dive Site

Port Douglas,
Norman Reef is the most northern reef visited by charter boats from Cairns and has numerous dive sites located off its sheltered western side. Located on the outer edge of the reef, Norman Reef is blessed with clear water and a wonderful range of marine life.

Green Island Dive Site

Green Island, Cairns Area
Green Island is the closest coral reef to Cairns, and located on the inner side of the reef it doesn’t have the crystal clear water found on the outer reefs. However, this pretty coral cay is a great place to snorkel, and also has a few good dive sites.
