Platypus Lodge Restaurant and Cafe is run by Austrian, yes not Australian, amiable chef owner Oskar, in the cool mountain tranquillity of Eungella National Park - Broken River section next to the Information Centre, about 80 kilometres west of Mackay. This is where you can escape from the tropical heat and be only metres from the best place in the world to view a platypus in the wild, offers The Ultimate Rain-forest Alfresco Dining Experience.

When they think about good food, it's about quality and value. After working in some of Switzerland, Austria and Australia's best food establishments, the chef is making sure high quality standards are applied to the preparation, cooking and presentation of their meals, which is the key to their success.
