Walk your way through exotic pines and ancient cycads as you enjoy this trail in the Byfield State Forest. The track passes through pockets of rainforest as it winds its way along Stony Creek. Discover the beauty of the Byfield Fern (Bowenia serrulata) and treat yourself to a picnic at one of the well-maintained recreation areas in the forest. If you're legs feel a little tired after all that walking, be sure to immerse yourself in the calm waters of the natural rock pools.

Full itinerary

Wander beside picturesque Stony Creek through eucalypt forest and mature exotic pines with heath understorey. Enjoy a quick dip in Stony Creek at Freemans Crossing to cool off. Logging operations may close this track at any time; check the 'HQ Plantations Pty Ltd' website for information.

Dingo Beach is a small township on the northern side of the Whitsunday Coast. Gloucester Island, Whitsunday Area
Gloucester Island is situated at the northern end of the Whitsundays islands group,and is easily accessible by boat from Dingo Beach and Hydeaway Bay. Dingo Beach and Hydeaway bay are approximately 45 minutes drive from Airlie Beach, and a trailer boat is easily towed along roads of good quality, culminating in a three to four kilometre stretch of dirt road at Cape Gloucester.
