Top Ten Tripper

You’re the type of traveller who finishes one holiday and starts planning the next. You like to hit the ground running, so you trawl TripAdvisor before jetting off. When you get there, you beeline it to the top-rated and must dos.

No rainforest stone will be left unturned as you glide just metres over the canopy of World Heritage rainforest past the Barron Falls. You’ll also explore by foot, looking out for the rainforest holy trinity – tree kangaroos, Ulysses butterflies and cassowaries.

Snorkel, fins and hashtags in hand you hit the Reef for that souvenir photo and a glimpse of a tropical island, while visiting one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

You sometimes need a holiday after your kind of holiday because you’ve fit that much in, but you wouldn’t have it any other way. Where to next?

To find your paradise, start exploring the Top Ten Tripper must dos and deals below.

Day 1:

Zip line over a crocodile, cuddle a koala, devour a mangosteen – this could all be a day’s work for someone who knows how to hit the ground running in Cairns.

Day 2:

Glide over the rainforest canopy and the cascading Barron Falls before a stop at Kuranda village. Meander through the markets, delve into Indigenous culture or meet some of the unique rainforest wildlife.

Day 3:

A day trip to the reef, yields great results: big white sails on board a catamaran, colourful coral and plenty of fish.  You cap off your Low Isles adventure with a bragworthy dinner at one of Port Douglas’ fine dining restaurants.

Day 4:

Cross the mighty Daintree River to see ‘Where the Rainforest meets the Reef’, at Cape Tribulation, zip line through the rainforest or head out into the Coral Sea on a kayaking adventure.

Day 5:

Head back to Cairns along the Great Barrier Reef Drive, making a pit stop for a wildlife cruise where you spot crocodiles from the safety of your guided boat tour.
