Memory Maker

You don’t collect things; you collect experiences. When someone asks “how was your holiday?”, they’d better take a seat, because you’ll have stories to tell.

Like that time you walked on the rugged path of an ancient volcano to see the lava tubes at Undara Volcanic National Park. How about when an Indigenous Elder shared his ancestors’ stories with you at Mossman Gorge? Or that moment you caught a glimpse of an elusive cassowary in Mission Beach.

You’ll never forget the first time you saw ‘Nemo’ in the sparkling waters of the Great Barrier Reef.  Just the perfect addition to your memory collection.

To find your paradise, start exploring the Memory Maker must dos and deals below.

Day 1:

Head south past rainforest clad hills, Queensland’s tallest mountain and endless sugar cane fields to Mission Beach. With golden sand and fringing palm trees, your only Mission is to end the day with sunset cocktails and a bucket of prawns on the beach.

Day 2:

Step it up a gear and kayak to Dunk Island (there’s a bar on the other side!) or raft on the Tully River for a thrilling experience you won’t forget.

Day 3:

Travel north to visit an enchanted Castle at Mena Creek Falls before heading to the Atherton Tablelands for some waterfall hopping and crater lake spotting.

Day 4:

Tropical North Queensland’s reef game is on point, so venture out from Cairns and get personal with Maori Wrasse, Giant Clams and Nemo. By night discover Indigenous music, dance and culture.

Day 5:

Board an historic train, as it winds up the range, past the majestic Stoney Creek and Barron Falls. You’ll hear the falls before you see them as water cascades 260m to pools below. Visit Kuranda, a village nestled in the rainforest, before gliding metres above the World Heritage-listed rainforest canopy. Relax back in your hotel in Cairns.
