Drive

The well-maintained highways and mostly sealed roads will connect you between the Outback towns and make travelling through the region easier than most would think. For those in search of an off-the-beaten track 4WD experience, take an alternate route between towns and follow the nature tracks and back roads to explore this remarkable part of Australia. The Charters Towers Visitor Information Centre is located at the intersection of Gill and Mosman Streets right next to City Hall. Due to the COVID19 virus, the Visitor Information Centre is temporarily closed to the public however for information please call or email and staff will be available to assist you Monday - Friday.

Rural Hinterland Visitor Information Centre
