Stay hydrated: Drink 120-180ml water every hour before the race.
Eat plenty of carbohydrates: You should be eating 60-75% of calories from carbs in the lead up to the race (not just the night before!).
Get there early and warn up: Take your time to mentally and physically prepare for the race. Keep your warm-up to a slow jogging/ walking for 10-15 minutes, so you save as much of your carbohydrate reserves as possible.
Do dynamic stretching: Stretching drills such as high knees, heel kicks and walking lunges will improve your functional range of motion without burning a significant amount of carbohydrates.
