The tenth annual Festival of Tibet will be an anniversary event to remember. Two events, to go on-sale in early December, offer something for everyone – discussion, art, music, intrigue and philosophy.

Kicking off in the evening of Friday 27April, festival favourite, Ama la (the Dalai Lama’s sister, Jetsun Pema) in conversation with author and media personality, Meshel Laurie. After their sold out performance during the Festival in 2015, Festival of Tibet is deeply privileged to have Ama la and Meshel join them again.

Directly following the conversation, the festival offers up the Mystical Tibet concert with the superb Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra.

In the following days, Festival of Tibet is excited to announce the appearance of national living treasure, Michael Leunig in an evening performance, 1000 Stories. Leunig will be creating several works of art in real time, accompanied by the music and banter of Tenzin Choegyal and friends.

Life's a beach, (or should that be beech?), for the laid-back residents in this quaint country village which sits smugly between the Lamington Plateau and Tamborine Mountain. First settlers flocked to the area in the 1800s and used the white beech trees, once prolific here, for timber.

Tamborine Mountain

Tamborine Mountain, Scenic Rim Area

Let's start with the rainforest, in the third oldest National Park in the world, which celebrates the remnants of the former Mount Warning volcano.

North Tamborine
