Located 27 kilometres north of Townsville is the secluded beachside suburb of Saunders Beach. A hidden treasure, this resort offers eight fully self-contained ground level units that cater for singles, families, groups and we are also wheelchair friendly. If you don't wish to self cater they have a Licensed Steakhouse within walking distance that offer dine in or take away meals.

This resort offers a salt water heated pool (heated in the winter months), undercover parking, barbecues, full laundry facilities, a games rooms with an adult and children's library and Foxtel, basketball hoop and all this located 20 metres from the waters edge so you can be lulled to sleep at night by the crashing waves.

The beautiful golden sands are a pleasure to walk on looking out at the outlaying islands. Fishing, boating and swimming is a must in the warm waters and fossicking for shells can always turn up some lovely shells.

Our Rooms

The resort offers Ocean View and Garden View units and a unit that is wheelchair friendly. All the Units are fully contained with full size oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and all cutlery/crockery, linen and towels.

All you need to do is bring your food, beverages and beach towels. There is air-conditioning and fans and the units are fully security screened. Outside each unit is a table and chairs for you to relax at and look out at the great view.

Often washed by currents, so generally done as a drift dive, Around The Bend is a plateau at the top of the reef wall with gutters, ridges and bommies to explore in depths to 30 metres.

Cow Bay

After crossing the Alexandra Range visitors encounter the first bit of 'civilisation' north of the Daintree River at Cow Bay, located halfway between the Daintree River and Cape Tribulation and offering great beach and rainforest experiences.

Silver City is a great dive site where divers can explore a network of caves, a maze of bommies and a sheer wall of coral. Located on the western side of Osprey Reef, Silver City is often a good place to encounter silvertip sharks, but far more common are the whitetip reef sharks and grey reef sharks.

Mount Molloy

Mount Molloy was named to honour teamster Patrick Molloy who, in the mid 1880s, found the copper outcrop whilst searching for stray bullocks. Four years he worked it as a one man show, then amid murmurs of "claim jumping", it changed hands.

Fish Bowl Dive Site

Divers wanting to encounter a great variety of reef fish are highly recommended to visit the Fish Bowl. This lovely dive site is located off Cairns and situated on the western side of Hastings Reef. The terrain at Fish Bowl is a mix of coral gardens and coral heads that form a bowl shape, but divers will also find gutters, ledges and walls in depths to 18 metres.
