Walkabout Cultural Adventures provides the opportunity to spend the day with a local Aboriginal tour guide, visiting a number of culturally significant sights and local attractions between Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation including the World Heritage Daintree Rainforest.

Learn about and experience the amazing relationships the Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people have with their land and the diverse environments. Hear the history, culture and traditions of the local Aboriginal people and the area, visit local Indigenous art and craft galleries. Walk through the world's oldest living rainforest, see natural wonders including waterfalls, the majestic Daintree river, and coastal habitats learning about the different food resources and medicines utilised from nature, perhaps even trying your hand at a few hunting techniques like spear throwing. Sample some bush tucker and have a swim in pristine freshwater streams before returning to your accommodation.

Tours take a minimum of two persons and a maximum of 11 persons, allowing for a more intimate and interpretive tour. All tours are led by Aboriginal guides.

Half Day Cultural Tour

Starting from your accommodation spend either the morning or afternoon with a local Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal tour guide along the coastal habitats learning about the environment, different foods and medicines utilized from nature, sample some bush tucker, collect shellfish and try traditional Aboriginal hunting practices, have a go at spear throwing and if you are lucky, catch a mud crab. Visit the rainforest to complete the adventure and cool off in a pristine freshwater stream.
