When you need a break from the beaches, discover the lush Gold Coast Hinterland. Head for the Springbrook National Park to admire lush greenery and sights like the stunning Purling Brook Falls, or explore Lamington National Park and its many photogenic aspects, such as Morans Falls. Hike through sub-tropical rainforest and walk beside meandering creeks, then set up your tent and camp under the stars.

Get your thrills on a roller coaster or meet your favourite cartoon characters at a theme park, discover the magic of glow worms after dark at the Natural Bridge in the Springbrook National Park, and gather the gang together around a big table for street food at the Miami Marketta market. Binna Burra

Tweed River

The Tweed River is a popular shore diving location at the southern end of the Gold Coast. While there are a number of site that can be dived in the Tweed River, the best site is the rocky wall adjacent to the harbour near the river mouth.

Kirra Reef Dive Site

Not far from Kirra Beach, one of the Gold Coast’s top surfing destinations, is one of its most interesting dive sites; Kirra Reef. Consisting of scattered rocky outcrops covered in kelp fronds, there are scores of hidden gems throughout the reef.

Main Beach

While other suburbs snatch their names from exotic Aboriginal meanings or English seaside villages, Main Beach is far more literal. Situated at the northern end of the Gold Coast, Main Beach was so named as it was the main surf beach to the town of Southport.
