Mount Morgan's premier event is held in Mount Morgan on the Labour Day weekend. The Golden Mount Festival celebrates Mount Morgan's past and looks to the future with a wide range of awesome events including gold digs, relay races (Running the Cutter), market stalls, fireworks, music nights and street processions.

The event started in 1977 and continues today as one of the regions longest running festivals, attributed largely to the unique events and celebrations held on an annual basis.
