13 – 30 January 2018 -
Located in the heart of the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef is the Whitsundays, a collection of 74 island paradises which the Clipper Race fleet will call home in January 2018.
And whilst the fleet is berthed at Abell Point Marina in Airlie Beach, the region will come alive with the inaugural Whitsundays Clipper Race Carnival.
The Clipper Race Carnival will be a two-weeklong celebration of vibrant regional events and activities showcasing the beauty of the Whitsundays, and will be Queensland’s pre-eminent National and Global sailing festival.
The Clipper Race crew will have sailed almost 20,000 nautical miles and half way round the world to get to the Whitsundays, and will welcome the planned events, which include a long lunch on the iconic Whitehaven Beach, a rodeo on the coastal beaches of Bowen, and a large-scale community welcome event.
