Culture Connect specialises in intimate, genuine Aboriginal cultural experiences with Indigenous Traditional Owners on their homelands. Offering tours, private charters and special events allows travellers to choose from a wide variety of experiences in North Queensland which has a rich and varied cultural landscape.

Small group tours ranging from half day to multi day experiences include the World Heritage rainforest of the Daintree region and the tropical savannah of Cape York. Explore ancient rock art, experience traditional coastal survival skills or relax and get creative at a hands on Aboriginal art workshop.

Private charters allow travellers to choose from a number of touring options and Aboriginal cultural experiences. All charters include cultural activities with Indigenous Traditional Owners on their homelands. Accommodation and transport options are available catering for educational, corporate and special interest groups.

Special events are experiences with very limited departures based around events such as festivals,ranger program activities and other events on the cultural calendar. Iconic destinations such as the Daintree Rainforest and historic Cooktown are included in itineraries.

Culture Connect is actively involved in the preservation of contemporary and traditional Aboriginal culture by supporting genuine cultural practices through authentic unique experiences with Indigenous Traditional Owners.

Join Balnggarrawarra traditional owners on a full day touring their homelands. Located approximately 70 kilometres from Cooktown is Normanby Station. Rich in cultural heritage and historic sites the station boasts a diverse natural and cultural landscape.

Take a guided interpretive walk to discover rarely seen rock art. Learn about traditional bush food and medicine. Explore Balnggarrawarra homelands as you cross the Normanby River and travel remote bush tracks. Visit the old Laura Railway and exclusive cultural sites for an insight into colonial life and the black history of the region.

Discover the contemporary life of the traditional owners through the current ranger programs. Learn about the significance of the projects which includes cultural mapping, erosion control, feral weed and animal eradication and environment protection.

Normanby Station, located an hours drive from Cooktown is the homelands for the Balngarrawarra people. This area has a rich Aboriginal cultural landscape due to the abundance of food, water and rock shelters. Hidden amongst sandstone country and tropical woodlands are rock shelters containing exquisite rock art rarely been seen by outsiders.
