Aussie Animal Seasonal Calendar

Year Round

Cassowary

Best place: Daintree Rainforest, Mission Beach and Cape Tribulation in Tropical North Queensland.
Best time: Early morning and late afternoon.

Crocodile Spotting

Best place: Daintree River, Tropical North Queensland.
Best Time: During the day when they are sunning themselves.

Dingos

Best place: Fraser Island, Fraser Coast.
Fact: Fraser Island, off the coast of Queensland, has some of the most “purest” dingos in eastern Australia.

Dolphins 

Best Places: Tangalooma, Moreton Island and Tin Can Bay, Sunshine Coast.
Best Time: At dusk to hand-feed them.

Koalas 

Best place: The largest colony concentration in the wild at Magnetic Island, Townsville.
Best time: Koalas are mostly active at night and around dawn and dusk. 

Manta Rays

Best place: Lady Elliot Island, Southern Great Barrier Reef
Best Time: All year round although they come in larger groups in May and June.
