The Sports Super Centre was built at Runaway Bay as a training base for international athletes competing in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. The centre's facilities are now used by the local community, holidaymakers, and travelling teams and groups from all over the world.

The centre offers comfortable, modern, three-star group accommodation. There are nine lodges with twin or quad rooms available to book individually, or as multiples for larger groups. One lodge can sleep up to 36 people, and altogether can accommodate groups of up to 288.

Lodges have 10 bedrooms in twin, quad and wheelchair access configurations. Each lodge has: coach / teacher / manager ensuite rooms; common room with cable television and DVD; kitchenette for basic food preparation; and laundry with washer and dryer. The centre offers full dining and catering facilities; three-tier buffet menus, and function and event packages for 10-500 people.

Minerva Hills National Park

For Four Wheel Drive enthusiasts, Coongarra Rock and Falls provide an opportunity to explore rocky outcrops, caves, rock pools and natural vegetation. It is possible to climb the rock but should only be attempted by fit and experienced bushwalkers.

Butterfly Bay - Hook Island

A popular bareboat anchorage, Butterfly Bay is situated on the northern side of Hook Island. There are limited public moorings and snorkelling can be enjoyed along the bay edge or just off the beach. Offering coral outcrops with shallow walls, the bay is populated by many small, colourful reef fish species.

Mount Beerwah

Leave your vehicle in the car park on the banks of the Obi Obi Creek and take a short, level walk downstream to Gardners Falls.  You’ll pass a number of shallow rock pools which are ideal for smaller children who just want to splash about.
