Located amidst the magical waters of the Great Barrier Reef, Orpheus is a secluded island hideaway accommodating just 28 indulged guests. Access is either via a 30 minute helicopter journey from Townsville, or a 1.5 hour journey from Cairns.

Orpheus showcases a plethora of once in a lifetime experiences! Its principal dive sites boast 1,100 of the 1,500 species of fish on the reef; the local waters are a fisherman's playground and home to the most sought after reef fish species in the world; and guests can take the helm of a motorised dingy complete with gourmet picnic hamper and discover the many pristine coves and reefs that fringe Orpheus. Alternatively, Orpheus provides the perfect backdrop for a more private interlude if guests wish to simply relax and succumb to a unique indigenous-inspired treatment at the Gwandalan Day Spa.

Accommodation rates include all gourmet meals, celebrating a bounty of locally-sourced and freshly grown and caught seasonal delights, a selection of Australian wines and beers, and a daily Orpheus experience (snorkelling, fishing, island cruises). Not to be missed is the signature Dining with the Tides experience, an intimate dinner for two under a starlit canopy on the island's jetty.

South Suite

Just a stone's throw from the water's edge, the South Suites ensure utter privacy in a laid-back luxe setting. Described as unobtrusive, romantic and contemporary, the stylish suites accommodate two guests and offer a secluded escape, set amongst rich tropical gardens. The interiors are beachcomber chic and showcase soft natural surfaces and exquisite details that sit in harmony with the beaches and coral cays. The furniture is relaxed and imbued with a sense of style and includes furniture from renowned Australian company Jardan and French linens from Bedouin Societe. The suites are complemented by private cobblestone courtyards at the rear with an outdoor stone bath big enough for two. A tranquil setting for you to unwind in!

North Beachfront Room

With a unique ambience and a beautiful balance between contemporary and minimalist island aesthetic, the North Wing accommodation ensures utter comfort in a laid-back luxe setting.

The accommodation offers natural colour schemes, blonde timbers, crisp white linen, 32 inch LED television, iPod docking station, Bella coffee machine and Li'tya guest amenities to ensure a tranquil sanctuary for you to unwind in, whilst private terraces boast Coral Sea views, languid sea breezes and serene Orpheus sunsets.

North Beachfront Suite
