This 28 kilometre, challenging one-way circuit was created along the mountain ridge of the Conway National Park. A gruelling exercise, it will take four to five hours on a mountain bike or three days of walking and camping out under a blanket of stars.
You'll be rewarded with a very unique experience including rocky cliffs and spectacular views.
You can start or finish the circuit at either Forestry Road or at Kara Crescent in Airlie Beach. Short circuits run-off the main track at Forestry Road including the two kilometre Kingfisher circuit (walkers only), the seven kilometre Wompoo Walk and the 8.2-kilometre Honeyeater lookout track.
Two camping areas are available, both providing toilets, rainwater tanks and storage trunks to keep food away from wildlife. The circuit changes classification from easy to intermediate to difficult and both riders and walkers need to be fit and experienced to attempt the full length of the circuit. The circuit is closed annually from 1 February to 31 March and subject to seasonal and other closures.
Enjoy a different Whitsunday experience and escape to the tropical refuge of the Conway Circuit. Ride, run or walk the Conway Circuit on a 27 kilometre journey through Conway National Park, starting or finishing at Forestry Road and starting or finishing at Airlie Beach. The three day walk is one-way while the mountain bike ride can be done as a circuit.
The Conway Circuit is managed by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service. Please note that this map only shows an indicative track entrance point from Airlie Beach. The track route and end point at Forestry Road are not shown and this map cannot be used for navigation purposes. Please see the Queensland National Parks, Sport and Racing web site for detailed maps and the latest park information, including opening hours and safety messages. When you are in the park, make sure you refer to signs at the start of the track for more information.
