The Hampton Visitor Information Centre is located at the junction of the New England Highway and the Esk-Hampton Road in Hampton, 30 minutes north of Toowoomba in south east Queensland.
It is set amongst the tall timbers right on the escarpment of the Great Dividing Range at 715 metres above sea level.
It is an accredited visitor information centre which offers a one stop shop for travel information on what to see and do in the area including national parks, lakes, bushwalking, bird spotting, antique and arts and craft shopping...and much more.
The centre is staffed by friendly and knowledgeable locals who know all about the hidden gems of the region and are ready to help with directions, maps, brochures, accommodation enquiries and other travel assistance. It also has free WIFI for the travelling public's convenience.
The centre is housed in 100 year old building. The warmth emanating from the honey coloured hoop pine walls and the wide planks of the tallowwood floors mixed with the smell of the linseed oil finish make this a delightful place to pick up tourist information, talk to a local and linger awhile.
