The Mackay Festival of Arts is one of the largest visual and performing arts festivals in regional Queensland. The festival takes you on an exciting journey through a range of visual and performing arts, wine and food events that hero the region's local produce and much more.

Local and visiting guests flock to the festival each year to carve their own path through the 10 day program, each leaving with their own experiences unique to this beautiful region on Queensland's north coast.

Full details of the Festival program will be launched in March 2018, get in early as some major and boutique events book out early. Enjoy Mackay in July.

Paluma Range National Park, the southern gateway for the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Mount Spec straddles the summit and escarpment of the Paluma Range, rising 1,000 metres above the Big Crystal Creek floodplain.

Mount Fox

Located south-west of Ingham, Mount Fox was created by a violent volcanic explosion about 100000 years ago. In the explosion, a lava flow 10 metres thick spewed from the southern end of the crater and chunks of molten magma were thrown out of the volcano's vent.
