Run of House

Feel like taking a lucky dip? Then the 'Run of House' room style is good for you. Great for the budget-conscious guest, as specific room types, features and inclusions cannot be requested or guaranteed. Note that Kitchenette facilities and Air-Conditioning cannot be requested nor guaranteed. No Daily Maid. Please also note the late 3pm Check-in time. Boat transfers to the resort are additional.

Hotel Room

Comfortable and spacious, the Kookaburra Lodge hotel rooms are a great choice for couples or young families and can accommodate up to four guests.

All rooms feature air-conditioning, ensuite bathroom with walk–in shower, hairdryer, television and DVD player, mini fridge, tea and coffee making facilities.

Located just a short walk from the resort centre and only 50 metres from the beach, the Kookaburra Lodge is set in quiet and tranquil surroundings overlooking beautiful Moreton Bay. Each room opens on to a private furnished balcony, perfect for watching the magnificent sunsets over the water.

Deep Blue Apartments - 4 Bedrooms

The luxurious Deep Blue apartments offer guests absolute beach frontage. Situated close to the Tangalooma jetty, the apartments directly overlook the dolphin feeding area, and boast uninterrupted views across Moreton Bay, with the Glasshouse Mountains visible by day and the glowing lights of Brisbane City by night.

With minimalistic décor and contemporary styling, each property is uniquely furnished. All apartments include stainless steel kitchen features European appliances, fully ducted air-conditioning, laundry with washing machine and dryer, indoor clothes line and private lock-up garage.

Each apartment has its own furnished balcony complete with built-in barbecue and dining for up to 10 guests. Ceiling to floor automatic shutter blinds provide guests with complete privacy.

The complex also offers a private pool with cabana.

All rooms are studio-style and offer air-conditioning, ensuite bathroom, hairdryer, television and DVD player, dining table and chairs, and kitchenette complete with full size fridge, convection microwave oven, electric frypan, toaster and kettle.

Surrounded by luscious landscaped gardens, tropical palms and native flowering bushes, the suites are also designed to take advantage of the refreshing Moreton Bay breezes from either a furnished balcony or through large sliding glass windows.

The family suites differ from resort units in that they offer a separate bedroom and living area, offering more spacious living for longer stays.

Each resort suite can accommodate up to five guests.

Beachfront Villa

The beachfront villas are a family favourite and ideal for longer stays as they are fully self-contained.

Spanning two levels, these two-bedroom townhouses feature two private balconies with spectacular views across Moreton Bay. Furnished in relaxed island décor, the villas feature ceiling fans throughout.

The upper level contains a bathroom, two bedrooms and an alcove with additional twin beds that is perfect for the younger ones. The spacious master bedroom has sliding doors that open to a private balcony.

The lower level features an open plan living and dining area with a fully self-contained kitchen, including a full size fridge, convection microwave oven, dual gas stove- top, electric frypan, kettle and toaster. Each property also contains a washing machine, vacuum cleaner, iron, and ironing board.

Second Reef Dive Site

Located off the western side of Lady Elliot Island, Second Reef is a long ridge of coral that varies in depth from 2 to 12 metres. Lovely hard corals feature on this reef, but with many ledges and caves to explore it is always a fascinating dive.

Maori Wrasse Bommie Dive Site

Maori Wrasse Bommie off Lady Elliot Island is named after the family of Maori wrasse that call the area home. The site is located 14 to 18 metres beneath the surface and is ideal for intermediate divers looking to explore – reef sharks can often be spotted patrolling the reef wall and arches near the bommie, and just north of the wall is Spiders Ledge, named for the number of shells that decorate the outcrop.

Entrance Bommie Dive Site

Lady Musgrave Island, Gladstone Area

Located at the entrance to Lady Musgrave Island lagoon, Entrance Bommie is a large blade of coral sitting in 22 metres of water. This elongated bommie is riddled with ledges and caves, which are usually overflowing with baitfish.

Spiders Ledge

Lady Elliot Island,
Spiders Ledge is a good place to see sharks at Lady Elliot Island. The reef at this site slopes from 8 metres to 25 metres and is cut by a series of gutters and ledges. Pretty corals and abundant reef fish are found at the site, as are turtles and schools of pelagic fish.

Lady Musgrave Island

An underwater oasis is waiting to be discovered as you pop on your snorkel and mask to reveal one of the Great Barrier Reef's biggest swimming pools at Lady Musgrave Island. The protected lagoon is truly unique on this coral cay island, where you can play castaway on a bare-bones camping adventure or hop aboard a luxury vessel and visit in star worthy style.

Hiros Cave and The Tubes

The eastern side of Lady Elliot Island is not always dived as it is more exposed to the weather, but this part of the island has some lovely dive sites. A feature of this part of the fringing reef is a wall that drops from 14 metres to 22 metres.

Lighthouse Bommies Dive Site

Just off the western side of Lady Elliot Island is a group of small coral outcrops known as Lighthouse Bommies. Descend down the mooring line and drift onto the bommies to discover a vast array of marine life - batfish, stingrays, white-spotted shovelnose rays, green and loggerhead turtles, sea snakes, moray eels, coral trout, reef sharks, trevally, barracuda, and manta rays waiting to be groomed by cleaner wrasse.

Rules Beach

Rules Beach, Gladstone Area
Rules Beach is named after the Rule family, one of the early pioneering families in the area. Situated on the ocean front, Rules Beach is several miles long and runs the full distance between Baffle Creek and Broadwater creek.

Three Pyramids

Lady Elliot Island,
The Three Pyramids is a collection of three coral bommies on the sheltered western side of Lady Elliot Island. Rising from the sand in depths from 20m, these coral heads attract a great variety of marine life, with each one home to a good population of reef fish and invertebrates.
