The Smokin’ Barbecue and Fiery Food Festival is located at the heritage listed Woolshed at Jondaryan.

Sanctioned with the Australian Barbecue Alliance event to our Festival. Come and see some of Australia’s finest barbecue pit crews, and Fiery Food vendors in action out over two days. They are privileged to of been chosen to host a Round of the Barbeques Galore Australian Barbecue Championships in 2018.

The Festival will be running four Championship Series categories and introducing the Woolshed Challenge, Barbecue Beef Ribs that teams will have to pair with their choice from one of their Fiery Food Vendors specialty rubs, sauces or glazes.

Make a weekend of it, stay at one of their accommodation options, enjoy the Saturday night Happy Hour Feast and Bonfire, mingle with the barbecue pit crews and Chilli vendors while enjoying a barbecue and cold beverages.

Enter their contests. Try and buy a variety of Quality Chilli Products, watch some of Australia’s best barbecue pit crews. Try some exotic international cuisines they will have on offer, sample an artisan beer, listen to live bands, let the kids enjoy the family friendly atmosphere with activities on offer.

Bring your own alcohol is not allowed.

The Burnett River flows out to sea at Burnett Heads, and just upstream is the Port of Bundaberg with its wharves and imposing sugar terminal. Here, the broad reaches of the Burnett are home to the Bundaberg Sailing Club, and as expected, there are boat ramps and car and trailer parking at the river mouth.

Burkitts Reef Dive Site

Located in front of the town of Bargara, near Bundaberg, Burkitts Reef is a popular shore diving site that always provides a few surprises. The reef fringes the headland and varies in depth from two to eight metres and is covered in lovely hard corals.

Burnett Heads

Burnett Heads is nestled along the Coral Coast and is most readily identifiable by the two historic lighthouses that dot its coastline. Oaks Beach is a 200 metre long stretch of beach safe for surfing and swimming with many choosing to fish off the rocks and groyne at The Oaks which are the best places to reach deep water.

Located on the waterfront at the gorgeous Burnett Heads, this beautiful park offers plenty of space to run and play. For the kids there is a large climbing frame and a smaller playground.
