Mon Repos Conservation Park

Bundaberg, Bundaberg Area

Your first stop should be at the Mon Repos Turtle Centre. Find out all there is to know about the marine turtles and the park and, if it’s turtle season, book yourself in to join the Park Rangers on a night-time Turtle Encounter tour. You’ll in the box seat when it comes to seeing this magical and ancient circle of life.

The park is not just about turtles! Flanked by the golden beaches and the waters of the Great Sandy Marine Park, you can explore the coastal reaches of the park along one of the many tracks. Cycle or walk along the Turtle trail—it’s part of a longer track that joins the park with nearby coastal towns. Grab the family and see how many species of birds you can spot on the Ponds boardwalk.

Immerse yourself in the park’s rich and varied history. Learn about Bert Hinkler’s first glider flights and see an historic stone wall built by South Sea Islanders on the Mon Repos Coastal track. Dip your toes in the creek on your way to the remains of WWII bunkers on the Cable House Creek circuit.
