Fraser Island Fishing Units are situated in what would be the prime position on Fraser Island - 'Indian Head'. They are located only metres from surf beach to the south and a protected bay to the north. You can take a short walk to the top of the headland and watch the whales swimming past.

This is the place to stay for the best fishing on the island or simply a quiet secluded place for a perfect holiday. Fish the southern beaches, the quiet bay or off the rock at the back of the headland for catching the biggest and best tailor during the tailor season. it is a good location to visit all the hot-spots from.

Fraser Island Fishing Units offer the choice of a four bedroom house or two cabins, fully powered by a solar system. Each unit and house is fully self-contained, offering two fridges, freezer, gas, hot water and stove. Barbecue areas with gas barbecues are also provided.

Our Rooms

The four bedroom house has accommodation for up to 12 people. It has a full kitchen with solar refrigerators and lights, and a gas oven and stove. Full cooking facilities are provided. There is a large deck which faces north overlooking the ocean. Pillows, bed linen and blankets are not provided.

Moreton Bay is home to approximately 600 bottlenose dolphins and each evening as the sun begins to set across the water, a small pod makes their way to the shores of Tangalooma Island Resort. Curtin Artificial Reef is a popular dive site in Moreton Bay and is easily accessible from Brisbane. Since 1968, the Underwater Research Group of Queensland has been sinking large vessels, cars, tires and pontoons at this site to create a haven for the local tropical fish, gropers, trevally, abundant wobbegongs, rays and other schooling fish.

A small concrete cherub once marked the main entrance to this hidden cave off Moreton Island. While the guardian has since disappeared, this underwater world remains to be discovered by the adventurous diver.
