Blue Shades Motel offers a variety of rooms to suit your requirements, taste and budget. With easy access from the highway, covered car spaces and solid construction, rooms are quiet and convenient. There are 35 rooms in total. Choose from standard, business, family or executive rooms. All rooms have complementary wifi and Foxtel offering three sports channels, three movie channels, and more. There is an outdoor pool with barbecue area and a guest laundry. Their resident Barramundi offers a unique experience for visitors at feeding time too.

Extreme pride is taken by the team at The Blue Shades Motel to ensure you have a high standard of comfort, service and cleanliness. Breakfast and dinner are available for room service or in their Restaurant six days per week. There is a friendly pub across the road from the motel that has meals Monday to Sunday nights with chargeback available plus surcharge.

Blue Shades Motel is a terrific base when visiting the Fraser Coast region, or on route to Hervey Bay and Fraser Island. In Maryborough, the historical architecture, Mary Poppins precinct and Military Museum, are just a few of the awesome places to see - there is so much more!

Affordable Family

Large comfortable family rooms with various bedding configurations including queen bed, single beds and bunk beds in some. All rooms contain a large screen television with Foxtel, fridge, microwave and toaster.

Family Pool Room

Large family unit with a separate mezzanine floor overlooking our pool. Bedding configuration includes queen, queen and two single. Cots available on request.

Standard Room

Standard rooms are spacious and have a large ensuite. With at least a queen bed and some have singles. All queen rooms have lounge seating, table and chairs. Rooms contain a large screen television with Foxtel, fridge, microwave and toaster.

Business Room

Rooms are large with lounge seating , table and chairs, large ensuite, triple sheeted, microwave, kettle, toaster, tea and coffee. Good size fridge.

Executive Room

Large comfortable rooms. Separate lounge area to bedroom. Lounge seating, table and chairs. Large ensuite, some with a half size bath. Very quiet. Rooms contain a large screen television with Foxtel, fridge, microwave and toaster.

With a name like Barracuda Bommie you would expect to see barracuda at this dive site, and fortunately it rarely disappoints. Located on the Agincourt Reefs, off Port Douglas, Barracuda Bommie is a giant pinnacle of coral that rises from the sandy sea floor at 26 metres.
