Lizard Island Black Marlin Classic

During the marlin season from September to December each year, the Lizard Island Game Fishing Club organises a unique seven-day tournament for members and qualified visitors. Because of the size of the black marlin encountered in the fishery, the Lizard Island Black Marlin Classic is the only tournament worldwide that justifies the use of heavy (60kg or 130lb) tackle.

The Blackall 100

The Blackall 100 is a trail ultra-marathon that traverses the beautiful and scenic Great Walk of the Sunshine Coast. The event is open to runners and walkers with distances of 100 kilometres and 50 kilometres.

Burdekin Junior Mixed Touch Carnival

Ayr, Burdekin Area
20 October 2018
This is a one day event on 20 October 2018. It is Touch Football carnival for players aged 8 to 14. Divisions are Under 10, Under 12 and Under 14. Mixed teams (boys and girls in same team) have been invited from Bowen, Whitsunday, Charters Towers and Burdekin to participate.
