Opera in the Outback has become an iconic event for not only many in Tropical North Queensland but has become known around the world. Each September hundreds of visitors descend on Undara Experience for three nights of very unique entertainment in the incredible setting which is the purpose-built Ooramin Place Amphitheatre. The first half of this magical event is enjoyed as the sun sets turning the western sky into an explosion of colour. The second half is enjoyed under a million stars.

The program, which includes a lighter non opera performance on the Thursday followed by two nights of Opera, has amazed and entertained audiences since it's inception in 2001. So come and experience something you'll treasure forever. They simply call it the Undara Experience.

Roy Rufus Artificial Reef Dive Site

The most popular dive site in Hervey Bay is the Roy Rufus Artificial Reef. Located off the eastern side of Big Woody Island, this large artificial reef was started in 1968 and covers a wide area in depths to 18 metres.

The Cathedrals on Fraser Island are coloured sand cliffs that have been sculpted by the wind and rain blowing in off the Pacific Ocean. The colours - red, brown, yellow and orange - are spectacular and are best viewed in the early morning light.

Great Sandy Biosphere

In 2009, the Great Sandy region was awarded Biosphere Reserve status by UNESCO, the global organisation that also awards World Heritage Listings. The decision gives world-wide recognition to the Fraser Coast region, neighbouring Gympie area and the Bundaberg coastline and puts it in the same class as the Galapagos Islands, the Central Amazon, the Everglades and Uluru.

Eli Creek

Eli Creek, the largest creek on the eastern beach of Fraser Island, pours up to four million litres of clear, fresh water into the ocean every hour. Eli Creek is a popular picnic and swimming spot, with a boardwalk that follows the creek inland through banksia and pandanus.
