Danbulla National Park and State Forest Camping Ground

Stay in one of the five camping areas along the 28 kilometre Danbulla Road and enjoy the unique features of the area including crater lakes, strangler figs, rainforest walks and places of important local history and interest.

Camping permits are required and fees apply. Your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.
All camping areas at Danbulla must be booked. as self-registration is no longer available at any of the campgrounds. Campers may occupy their booked site from 2pm and must leave by 11am. Dogs are not permitted in camping areas. The maximum length of stay is 21 nights. Buy firewood before entering the park.

Downfall Creek Camping Area

The Downfall Creek camping area is located in the Danbulla National Park and State Forest. It is a grassy camping area that overlooks tall pine plantations and native forests. It features uninterrupted water views of Lake Tinaroo. The camping area can be reached by conventional vehicle or via boat. The Downfall Creek Camping Area allows for generators (with restrictions) and has toilet facilities.

Fong-On Bay Camping Area

The Fong-On Bay camping area is located in the Danbulla National Park and State Forest, right on Lake Tinaroo. The camping area is grassy and is accessible via conventional vehicle or boat. This campsite allows for generators and has toilet facilities. This camping area is popular with waterskiers and most of the camp sites feature water views.

On entering the rainforest in Tamborine National Park, take the right-hand fork and head down to Curtis Falls. A viewing platform in the forest is a good place to stop and listen to the birds or rest on your way back.
