Stepping Stones Dive Site

Whitsundays, Whitsunday Area
Free Entry
Stepping Stones, a dive site at Bait Reef on the Great Barrier Reef, can be found off the coast of Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands. The Stepping Stones are a series of more than 18 flat-topped coral pinnacles, looking much like their namesake from above, and offering a myriad of interesting channels and caves to explore.

Nara Inlet

Whitsundays, Whitsunday Area
Nestled in the south east end of the Whitsundays’ Hook Island is Nara Inlet, a secluded bay with tranquil waters that reflect the dense forestry that covers the island’s steep hills. The clear water acts as a window to the fringing reef and is known for its sheltered anchorage and easy access to the island.

Severance Shipwreck Dive Site

Lady Elliot Island, Bundaberg Area
Free Entry
Quite a few ships have come to grief on the fringing reef around Lady Elliot Island, but only one of these can be dived, that is the Severance. This fully intact yacht sank in 1998 and still has much of its rigging in place that is now covered in glorious soft corals.
