Fraser Coast or Brisbane Airport - International and Domestic Terminals 

The Fraser Coast Airport is located 10 minutes from the Esplanade in Hervey Bay. There are a number of ways to get to where you need to go. Bay2Dore Shuttle provides a door to door service from the airport to your accommodation. The public bus travels from the Airport to Burrum Heads in the north to Maryborough in the south with frequent stops. You can also catch a Taxi, organise a private transfer or hire a rental car too. 

Brisbane Airport is also a domestic and the main international gateway to the region.

Bus Coach and Train - Brisbane to Fraser Coast 

Fraser Coast's Tilt Train service from Brisbane to Maryborough are run through Queensland Rail. Tickets and journeys can be explored further at their website.

Prefer wheels to tracks? Get on the coach bus from Brisbane to the Hervey Bay Coach Terminal and Transit Centre. Tickets and journeys can be explored further via the Greyhound Australia website. 

Road tripping from Brisbane to Fraser Coast

For those who prefer to take the scenic route, hire or bring your own car and drive from Brisbane to Hervey Bay. The journey takes approximately three and a half hours on the Bruce Highway.

Public Transport - Buses 

Fraser Coast's Wide Bay Transit buses from Hervey Bay to Maryborough are run through Translink. Tickets and journeys can be explored further at their website.

How to get to Fraser Island 

Water ferry 

Your chariot awaits at the River Heads Ferry Terminal, located 20 minutes south of Hervey Bay. A quick 50-minute ferry ride across the Great Sandy Strait is met with the sight of blue hues and towering dunes, as you pull up to the jetty at Kingfisher Bay Resort

If you're not staying at one of the resorts on the island, you'll need to have a four wheel drive to get around to the island's points of interested. If you prefer to explore without a vehicle, you can get around the island view dedicated walks from your resort, day tours or a scenic flights. These activities can be organised through your accommodation
