Maleny Singers present Trial By Jury and HMS Pinafore

Maleny, Sunshine Coast Area

At the end of June, Maleny Singers will present two Gilbert and Sullivan operettas at the Maleny Community Centre. Margaret Taylor, Director said today "We've chosen these two because they are short, filled with fun and rolliking tunes beloved by audiences everywhere."

Trial by Jury tells the story of a 'breach of promise' trial going awry, spoofing the law, lawyers and the legal system in the process. HMS Pinafore is also a social commentary. It recounts the story of the captain's daughter Josephine, who loves a lowerclass sailor, thus overturning the social order of the time. A surprise 'twist' however puts everything to rights in the end. "Both these operettas provide excellent family entertainment" said Margaret.

Trial By Jury and HMS Pinafore will commence on Friday 24 June at 6pm with a Gala evening performance. So pack up your picnic hampers, and bring along your friends to enjoy an excellent evening’s entertainment. This will followed by two matinee performances on 25 at 4pm and 26 June at 2pm.

Tickets are available at the Maleny Visitor Centre or you can book online. Please phone for group bookings and enquiries.
