The annual Betoota Gymkhana brings Australia's smallest town alive. Watch bushmen and women compete in exercises of true horsemanship and skilful dirt bike riding.

Saturday you can expect barrel racing, flagging plus much more at the Horse Gymkhana followed by Motorbike Enduro later in the afternoon. Remember, plan ahead and camp overnight to see the motorbikes kick back into action on Sunday.

You won’t go hungry with onsite catering (outback style) and plenty of cold ale at the bar, available Friday evening through Sunday afternoon.

Moore Park

MV Karma Shipwreck

Christmas came early to divers in the Bundaberg area in December 2003, when a 42 metre long gravel barge sank off the coast north of the city. That ship was the MV Karma and today it rests in 26 metres of water and is one of the best wreck dives in Queensland.

Sharon

Situated approximately eight kilometres out of Bundaberg towards Gin Gin is the small town of Sharon. The Sharon Gorge is a further four kilometres along the highway, and is home to a tranquil area with rainforests, ferns, palms and orchids.

South Head Parklands and Playground, Burnett Heads

Located on the waterfront at the gorgeous Burnett Heads, this beautiful park offers plenty of space to run and play. For the kids there is a large climbing frame and a smaller playground. For the adults, sit back and enjoy the view of the pristine blue water whilst watching the kids play in the great outdoors.

The Hummock

Calavos, Bundaberg Area
Situated off the road to Bargara is the low-lying volcanic remnant known as The Hummock which, although only 96 metres above sea-level, offers visitors good views over the whole area. The ocean is visible to the east while, to the west, the sugar fields can be seen encircling the city with the smoke stacks of the Bundaberg Distillery and Mill on the horizon.

Coonarr

Coonarr Beach is a 4.2 kilometre long, east facing beach that begins amongst the tidal shoals of the Elliott River mouth, then runs straight down to the smaller mouth of Coonarr Creek. There is a gravel road out to the small beachfront settlement of Coonarr, located toward the southern end of the beach.

Hoffman's Rocks Dive Site

Hoffman’s Rocks is a colourful underwater playground just south of Bargara in the Woongarra Marine Park. The area is covered in hard and soft corals including gorgonian sea fans and pretty soft corals, and home to resting turtles, stingrays, gropers and wobbegong sharks.
