The African Cottage, The Rondawel, Kalahari Cottage and Cape Cottage are situated near the picturesque village of Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The cottages are a little bit of Africa in Australia! They are relaxing, revitalising and rejuvenating! Choose from a cosy cottage for two under the figtree, a glass and timber hexagonal cottage or a spacious cottage for families. Pets very welcome!

Set on an acre of fragrant gardens, they offer a cosy log fire or eco friendly fire in winter, cool summer breezes, relaxing massages, traditional South African dinner by candlelight, hearty breakfasts and comfortable accommodation. The cottages are self contained - two romantic cottages for two, one sleeping six people, and the other up to nine people. They are ideal for a romantic weekend, or family and friends sharing.

The African Cottage, The Rondawel , Kalahari Cottage and Cape Cottage are close to the many shops and restaurants of Maleny and Montville, only 30 minutes to the nearest beach or 20 minutes to Australia Zoo. Browse through art galleries and shops, go for rainforest walks, wine tours or visit the famous cheese factories. Or just relax and unwind in the comfort of your unique cottage!

Cape Cottage

Cape Cottage is their latest special cottage. It is situated right under the 500 year old figtree with the branches of the tree hugging the cottage. Relax on your spacious deck, sipping your favourite drop, listening to the birds in the tree. Spot a possum or two, or enjoy their guinea fowl chattering away. Enjoy your eco friendly campfire - you can even carry it out on the deck! Order a traditional South African dinner and enjoy by candlelight (even the candles are African!). Have a massage in the privacy of your cottage, then complete the relaxation with a long luxurious bath. Ideal for a romantic break away.

One self contained cottage, with three bedrooms. Two bedrooms upstairs, both with queen beds and one with a single bed as well. A room downstairs with double bed. Pull out double sofabed in lounge. All together can sleep up to nine people. Spacious living area with fireplace. Wide verandahs all round. Fantastic, large country kitchen. Airconditioned. Right next door to Maleny's most popular wedding venue, The House of Laurels.

Kinkuna Section

Kinkuna section of Burrum Coast National Park preserves a wilderness area of coastal vegetation and wide, unspoilt beaches, just 30 kilometres south of Bundaberg. The Burrum Coast National Park which also incorporates both Woodgate and Burrum River sections is part of the Great Sandy Region, of which Fraser Island is best known.

Coonarr Beach is a 4.2 kilometre long, east facing beach that begins amongst the tidal shoals of the Elliott River mouth, then runs straight down to the smaller mouth of Coonarr Creek. There is a gravel road out to the small beachfront settlement of Coonarr, located toward the southern end of the beach.

Hoffman's Rocks Dive Site

Hoffman's Rocks is a colourful underwater playground just south of Bargara in the Woongarra Marine Park. The area is covered in hard and soft corals including gorgonian sea fans and pretty soft corals, and home to resting turtles, stingrays, gropers and wobbegong sharks.

Coral Cove Beach

Just a short 20 minute drive from Bundaberg will get you to Coral Cove, the friendly and relaxed coastal town between Innes Park and Elliott Heads. Make sure you take time to explore the lagoon and waterway that runs parallel to the beach, you never know what type of birdlife and animals you might find.

Cochrane Artificial Reef Dive Site

The Cochrane Artificial Reef in the Woongarra Marine Park, is like something straight out of a movie. Just a short boat trip from shore, you'll find the impressive 50 metre 'Ceratodus II' and the 40 metre long 'Porteur' surrounded by two Mohawk aircraft and a Kingair aircraft, two lightships, and a criss-cross of concrete modules, pipes and other structures all taken over by coral and sea life.

Hummock Lookout

Situated off the road to Bargara is the low-lying volcanic remnant known as "The Hummock" which, although only 96 metres above sea-level, offers visitors good views over the whole area. The ocean is visible to the east while, to the west, the sugar fields can be seen encircling the city with the smoke stacks of the Bundaberg Distillery and Mill on the horizon.

Head to the Woongarra Marine Park on the outskirts of Bundaberg to find some of the most brilliant and easy-to-access shore diving in Queensland. There's something different everywhere you look - turtles, rays, sea snakes, nudibranchs, moray eels, a wide variety of reef fish and coral and even wobbegong sharks.

Elliott Heads is a 15 minute drive from Bundaberg Central Business District and is surrounded by rural cane and small crop farms. Elliott Heads offers swimming at the patrolled surf beach or drop your boat in for a fish at Riverview.
