Affectionately dubbed ‘Coochie’ by locals, this small sub-tropical island lies quietly in southern Moreton Bay just a short 10 minute passenger ferry ride from Victoria Point on Redlands Coast.
With the island just five square kilometres in size, cars can be left on the mainland. Simply pack your swimmers and a picnic, or purchase food from one of the island cafes and find your own patch of sandy beach for some rest and relaxation.
If you are looking for something a little more active, try your hand at paddle boarding, kayaking or hire a barbecue boat and cruise the calm waters that surround the island.
Coochiemudlo's peaceful atmosphere and stunning views have inspired many artists and a range of arts and crafts are on offer at the regular markets.
The island has a range of accommodation including resorts, apartments and holiday homes.
The passenger ferry service runs every half hour.
