The Matilda Motel is now under new Management. The motel is situated in the heart of the city one block away from the post office and a short walk to shops and cafes. It is 100 metres to the rail station, or a short walk to various pubs and clubs, such as the Returned Services League. Matilda Motel is a five minute walk to Moncrieff Theatre, Civic Centre and also the Arts Centre.

The motel has a lovely pool which has a bubbly spa to relax in and enjoy the warm Bundaberg sun after a long journey or/and enjoy the comforts of their air-conditioned rooms and free Foxtel.

There is much to see and do in Bundaberg such as visit the famous Bundaberg Rum Distillery, Schmeider's Cooperage and Craft Centre, or Bundaberg Barrell (Bundy's famous brewed softdrink), the Botanic Gardens are also a special place to visit with the Hinkler House, Historical Museums, Japanese Gardens, Fairymead House Sugar Museum and, the newest addition, the Hinkler Hall of Aviation.

Mon Repos is the nesting and hatching place for the turtles and they are in season November to March, while hatchlings emerge from the eggs January to March.

Mount Fox

Located south-west of Ingham, Mount Fox was created by a violent volcanic explosion about 100000 years ago. In the explosion, a lava flow 10 metres thick spewed from the southern end of the crater and chunks of molten magma were thrown out of the volcano's vent.
