CMC Rocks Queensland is the biggest international country and roots festival in the Southern Hemisphere. Delivering an explosive array of international and national country music superstars, over three massive days and nights, Willowbank, Ipswich. Four time CMC Entertainer of the Year and country music megastar Luke Bryan leads the charge, making his Australian debut to CMC Rocks to overwhelming demand. Multiple Grammy Award winner Darius Rucker and Kelsea Ballerini along with 32 artists complete the massive line up.

Slade Point

Slade Point is a short five minute drive from Mackay Harbour, and is one of the few locations in the region where you can enjoy both a stunning sunrise and sublime sunset. Slade Point Reserve lies at Lamberts Beach, stretching 73 hectares and conserving one of the last remaining areas of coastal dunes and paperbark wetlands in the Mackay region.

Moranbah

Located in the northern part of the Isaac Regional Shire and approximately 200 kilometres south-west of Mackay is Moranbah. One of the youngest towns in Queensland, Moranbah was created for miners and their families with rich charm and emanating warmth.

Armstrong Beach

Armstrong Beach is a gentle 12 minute drive from the township of Sarina. From Sarina head south along the Bruce Highway and turn left onto Armstrong Beach Road, signposted from the highway. Armstrong Beach is renowned for its fishing and prawning, both of which are best attempted from the beach.

Teemburra Dam

Located in the picturesque Pioneer Valley, Teemburra Dam is approximately 50 kilometres west of Mackay City on a fully sealed road. The dam is a nature-lover's paradise. Made up of a mass of inlets and coves, it is easy to become entranced with the birds, fish and platypus which inhabit the area.

Grasstree Beach

Grasstree Beach is one of the most picturesque and beautiful beaches in the Mackay Region, located within a 15 minute drive from Sarina. Nestled in sheltered Zelma Bay, the shallow beach is a popular swimming destination, although it is not patrolled.

The Singapore Shipwreck Dive Site - Keswick Island

The Singapore was bound for Sydney from Hong Kong when she struck what is now called 'Singapore Rock' sometime in January 1877. Fortunately, no lives were lost. The Singapore was a 964 ton single screw steamer with a length of 87 metres and a width of 10 metres.

Brampton Island

Sitting at the southern entrance of the Whitsunday Passage, Brampton Island is a tropical island haven. Brampton Island is 32 kilometres north-east of Mackay and 50 kilometres south of Hamilton Island.

Bakers Creek

Bakers Creek, Mackay Area
Bakers Creek is a small town, seven kilometres south of Mackay. The creek itself is home to some of Mackay's best fishing opportunities, however anglers are advised to stay alert as the creek is also home to wild crocodiles.
