Gold Coast City Gallery

Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast Area

Gold Coast City Gallery is the region’s hub of creativity and culture. Home to a permanent collection of more than 4,000 significant contemporary and traditional art works, the gallery has a dynamic program of exhibitions and events – from intimate conversations with artists, to celebrations of music and art after dark, to fresh and engaging workshops for future artists, both young and old.

Currently housed within The Arts Centre Gold Coast, the program utilises the unique spaces, galleries and studios within the Centre, as well as the surrounding parklands of the Cultural Precinct. The Gallery is also a hub for the local arts community, working with local artists and makers, providing a space for art enthusiasts and supporters, and maintaining a curatorial focus on projects that celebrate contemporary creative responses to the city and the region.

The Gallery presents The Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award, a significant annual art prize on the cultural calendar and regularly acquires works from this award for the permanent collection. Future initiatives presented by the Gallery include Gold Coast Contemporary and the Gold Coast Ceramic Triennial, which will champion local creatives and contribute to the art community – locally and nationally.
