Charter a bareboat in the Whitsundays and skipper yourself, family and friends for a holiday of a lifetime in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef!

Whitsunday Escape has been specialising in Skipper Yourself 'Bareboat' Charters for over 30 years and their modern fleet of over 41 vessels includes Power Cruisers, Power Catamarans, Sailing Catamarans and Sailing Yachts. The fleet is conveniently located at Abell Point Marina, Airlie Beach and is the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands.

All vessels come fully equipped for extended cruising in the tropics. They include linen, a fully equipped galley, gas barbecue, refrigeration, stereo with auxiliary connection/compact disc player/AM-FM radio, television with DVD player, cockpit shade and cabin fans, electric anchor winch and a rigid inflatable dinghy.

A five night minimum applies to most charters. Departures and arrivals from Hamilton Island or any other Island resort can be catered for.

No formal boating qualifications are required to charter with Whitsunday Escape. However, to ensure a safe, happy holiday you should have some basic sailing and/or boating experience (navigation and anchoring), or they can provide a sail guide.

Sailing Catamaran – Leopard 48

The Leopard 48 Sailing Catamaran can sleep up to eleven. She has three double cabins, three bathrooms, two single bunks amidship and one small bunk located in the forward cabin. The saloon table can also convert to another double.

She features an upstairs galley, generous refrigeration space, great ventilation and a shaded rear cockpit. She also features the innovative new design of the walk-through forward cockpit which adds a second outdoor shaded entertaining area.

Suitable for large groups, couples or families.

Sailing Catamaran – Salina 48

The Salina 48 Sailing Catamaran is one of the largest catamaran in the fleet and performs very well under sail. With four double cabins, four bathrooms and four small single bunks (two attached to the front cabins and two amidships) she can sleep up to 12.

The upstairs galley, the generous refrigeration space and the large covered cockpit makes for very comfortable offshore sailing.

Sailing Catamaran - Nautitech Open 46

The Nautitech Open 46 Sailing Catamaran can sleep up to twelve people. She has four double cabins, the open saloon/cockpit area converts to create another two doubles and boasts four toilets with two shared showers. She has ample refrigeration and galley space and plenty of room with the unique open cockpit/saloon living space. Suitable for up to four couples, mixed groups and families.

The Leopard 46 Sailing Catamaran can accommodate up to to eleven. She has four double cabins, four bathrooms, a small single bunk located in the forward cabin and the saloon table can convert to another double.

Sailing Catamaran - Lagoon 450 Flybridge

The Lagoon 450 Flybridge can accomodate up to ten in four double cabins and the saloon converts to a double. Each of the four double cabins has its own ensuite bathroom. The generous refrigeration space and great ventilation throughout provides for comfortable cruising.

The large covered cockpit features a second dining area, a day bed and adjourns the galley – perfect for entertaining!

The unique flybridge has ample shaded seating and the forward cockpit provides great visibility for spotting wildlife and coral reefs.

For easy sailing, the Lagoon 450 Flybridge includes a roller furling headsail, full batten main, all lines lead to the flybridge and all the winches are electric.

She will also perform equally well under power.

Sailing Catamaran - Lagoon 440 Flybridge

The Lagoon 440 Flybridge can accommodate up to ten in four double cabins and the saloon converts to another double. Each of the four double cabins has its own ensuite bathroom. Plenty of ventilation and a raised flybridge provides for comfortable cruising.

The large covered cockpit features ample seating and adjourns the spacious galley making it an entertainers delight!
The unique flybridge has shaded seating and is a great vantage point for spotting local wildlife.

For easy sailing, the Lagoon 440 Flybridge includes a roller furling headsail, full batten main, all lines lead to the flybridge.

The Leopard 44 Sailing Catamaran can sleep up to eleven. She has three double cabins, two single bunks amidship, a small single is located in the forward cabin and the saloon table converts to another double. She also has three generous sized bathrooms.

She features an upstairs galley, ample refrigeration, a large shaded cockpit and also has a walk-through forward shaded cockpit for a second outdoor entertainment area.

Sailing Catamaran – Leopard 43

The Leopard 43 sailing catamaran was purpose built for cruising tropical waters and is very popular with overseas charter fleets. It can sleep up to 12.
Four double cabins with their own large bathrooms, the saloon will accommodate another double and two additional small adult berths are available in the forward cabins.

The ample head room, the generous refrigeration space, the upstairs galley and large fully covered cockpit makes for very comfortable cruising.

This Lagoon 421 Sailing Catamaran sleeps up to ten. There are four double cabins and the saloon will accommodate another double. All cabins feature their own bathroom and have great ventilation.

The Leopard 42 Sailing Catamaran sleeps up to twelve. There are four double cabins and the saloon will accommodate another double. Two child berths are available in the forward cabins. There are four bathrooms, ample head room and generous refrigeration.

Great ventilation with plenty of hatches. She will also perform equally well as a power catamaran. The Leopard 42 is ideal for cruising Queensland tropical waters and was purpose built for charter.

The Seawind 1250 sailing catamaran was purpose built for cruising to suit those that want the best. She sleeps up to nine with three double cabins, two bathrooms, the saloon will accommodate another double and a small single is located in one of the forward cabins.

The ample head room, generous refrigeration space, and roomy covered cockpit that opens onto the saloon makes for very comfortable cruising. Air-conditioning is available at the marina.

This performance Sailing Yacht sleeps up to seven. There are three double cabins, and the saloon will accommodate another single. There are two good sized bathrooms.

She has plenty of hatches for ventilation. Twin wheel steering and all lines are led to the cockpit for easy handling. Great for one to three couples and families.

The Beneteau 41.1 Sailing Yacht accommodates up to six people. She features two double cabins, two bathrooms and the saloon table converts to another double.

The Catalina 35 mkII accommodates up to five. The aft cabin has a large queen bed, the forward cabin is a generous double, and the saloon will accommodate a single. There is one large bathroom.
