Discover surf spots like Double Island Point and Rainbow Beach, pick up some skills at a surf school and see the pros in action at the Noosa Festival of Surfing. Luxury lovers can head for the stylish enclave of Noosa, while families will love the beaches of Caloundra, Mooloolaba and Cotton Tree.

Hinterland and outdoors

Walk through the stunning Noosa National Park and kayak the gentle waterways of the Noosa Everglades. In the Hinterland, hike the jaw-dropping Glass House Mountains, discover sun-dappled waterfalls and look for the most-photographed paddock on the Sunshine Coast, One Tree Hill in Maleny.

Food and fresh produce

Peregian Beach

About 13 kilometres south of Noosa Heads, Peregian Beach is one of a string of lovely beaches between Noosa and Coolum. Just over the sand hills at the southern end of the beach you'll find Peregian Environmental Park, an area of wallum heath which bursts into a colourful profusion of wildflowers in spring.

Hanging Rock Dive Site

Hanging Rock is a popular reef dive off Mooloolaba, at the southern end of the Sunshine Coast. Located on the large Outer Gneerings Reef, Hanging Rock is similar to other sites in the area, with a network of rocky ridges and gutters covered in corals.

Castaways Beach

You’ll find delightful Castaways Beach nestled between Sunrise and Peregian Beach, just 30 minutes from the Sunshine Coast airport. Relaxed, local vibe. Castaways has picturesque walking trails and is home to a koalas and kangaroos and the surf break is favoured by local surfers for its easy access and consistent, good quality waves.

Boreen Point

Boreen Point is a relaxed village on the shores of lovely Lake Cootharaba. The largest lake of the Noosa River system, Cootharaba is the gateway to the upper Noosa River, the Noosa Everglades and the Great Sandy National Park.

Eurong

With the magnificent 75 Mile Beach as its main road, Eurong, on World-Heritage listed Fraser Island is an idyllic destination for four wheel drive enthusiasts, nature lovers, beach bums and adventure seekers of all kinds.

Yandina

Yandina, Sunshine Coast Area
This is the famous 'Ginger Town' of the Sunshine Coast hinterland, which boasts some of the most beautiful country in Queensland. Yandina lies just to the north of Nambour, the centrally-located retail and service town for the central Sunshine Coast hinterland.

Bli Bli

Bli Bli, Sunshine Coast Area
The name Bli Bli means 'many swamp oak trees'. While in Bli Bli be sure to take a cruise through the Maroochy Wet Lands Sanctuary, or walk the boardwalks through swamps and mangroves. Wheelchair access is provided via the boardwalk for part of the way.

Mount Coolum National Park

Mount Coolum's impressive dome dominates the skyline of the Sunshine Coast lowlands. Follow the rough, 800 metre track to the 208 metre summit of the mountain. Here you'll be surrounded by rare montane heath—a plant community with many rare and threatened species.

In Cooloola, Great Sandy National Park, you can experience the majesty of nature's sculpture in sand. Massive dunes, towering cliffs of coloured sands and wide ocean beaches have been etched by wind and water.
