Southern Queensland Country food and wine

Southern Queensland Country is the most delicious state here in Queensland with endless food trails on offer. From Stanthorpe wineries to restaurants that celebrate local produce and olive trees embracing the highlands of the Great Dividing Range and the open plains out west, Southern Queensland Country serves up a menu ranging from wild adventure to relaxed indulgence.

With the cooler climate, the country setting, top shelf vineyards and fresher than fresh produce, you might just feel like you’ve landed in a little piece of heaven.

Paddock to plate

Ever wanted a real paddock to plate experience? Hand-pick your own cherries, apples, or strawberries right off the side of the road as you drive through the Granite Belt. And keep a look out for wild asparagus, fennel and saffron growing throughout the region and be sure to swing by the famous Peanut Van in Kingaroy!

Or avoid any heavy lifting and simply experience the historical setting of Steele Rudd’s stories in one of Toowoomba’s many country pubs and dig into a prime cut of locally produced beef paired with a bottle of your favourite drop.
