Outback Queensland towns and their salt of the earth locals pretty much guarantee that you’ll have a darn tootin, rip roaring good time in the Outback. Especially if you time your visit around event season (from March til October). 

Birdsville Races

Birdsville's busiest week of the year happens the first Friday and Saturday in September. Visitors take over this tiny outback town from all parts of Australia and the world for the Annual Birdsville Racing Carnival

Winton's Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival

Head to Winton a.k.a ‘Hollywood in the Outback’  to meet the actors, directors and producers behind some of your favourite Aussie films and at night, enjoy their talents on the big screen at the open-air theatre at the Vision Splendid Film Festival.
