The wet tropics of northern Queensland are the last remaining part of the huge forest that once dominated half of Australia. This lush landscape is home to species like cassowaries, parrots, pythons, possums, tree kangaroos, and primitive-looking reptiles, many of which live nowhere else in the world.
On this expedition you will work with ecologists to help shape our understanding of how changes in our climate are altering the landscape and what this means for species in the area. You'll explore lowland rainforests, spectacular mountains covered in cooler upland rainforests, beaches, and coral habitats just off the shore. You will try your hand at a variety of research techniques, including bird surveys, lizard surveys, frog surveys, and nocturnal wildlife spotting.
You can join this expedition for one or two weeks, spent at different long-term locations.
