Gold and platinum award winner, Karen Knowles is one of Australia’s favourite singers. Star of the musical Big River and lead singer with The Seekers in the early 1990s, Karen started her career on Young Talent Time and became the highest selling Australian female recording artist for two consecutive years. Karen’s best known hits include Why Won’t You Explain, You are the Reason, By Request, La Vie en Rose, Amazing Grace and Moonglow. She is well known for her Carols and Christmas repertoire and regular performances as part of the Lord Mayors Carols broadcast throughout Queensland on Channel 7. Karen will perform with her musical director accompanying her.

Manta Ray Bommie is not just one coral head, but a collection of bommies off the western side of Lady Musgrave Island. These bommies come in a range of sizes, in depths from 12 to 20 metres, with the biggest ones decorated with gorgonians, soft corals and sponges.

Anchor Bommie Dive Site

Lady Elliot Island has many wonderful dive sites, but one of its most impressive is Anchor Bommie. This tower of coral sits on the sandy sea floor at 21 metres and stands 10 metres tall, a very imposing sight.

Capricornia Cays National Park

Capricornia Cays’ stunning white beaches and coral reefs will leave a lasting impression. Their exceptional beauty and biological diversity make them internationally significant. Capricornia Cays National Park protects eight coral cays which rise just a few metres above the high tide mark - Lady Musgrave, North West, Masthead, Wilson, Heron, Erskine and Tryon islands and Broomfield Cay.

South Head Parklands and Playground, Burnett Heads

Located on the waterfront at the gorgeous Burnett Heads, this beautiful park offers plenty of space to run and play. For the kids there is a large climbing frame and a smaller playground. For the adults, sit back and enjoy the view of the pristine blue water whilst watching the kids play in the great outdoors.

Musgrave Dropoff

On the southern side of Lady Musgrave Island the reef edge drops from 10 metres to 25 metres and forms an amazing wall of coral. Often simply called Musgrave Dropoff, this extensive wall is rarely dived, but you can jump in anywhere along its length and have a great dive.

Mon Repos Turtle Centre, Mon Repos Conservation Park

No visit to Mon Repos is complete without a stop at the turtle centre. Here you’ll learn heaps about marine turtles, and the conservation and research programs that are protecting them. You'll also find out how a colourful history and ancient connections have shaped the Mon Repos you see today.

Spiders Ledge

Lady Elliot Island, Bundaberg Area
Spiders Ledge is a good place to see sharks at Lady Elliot Island. The reef at this site slopes from 8 metres to 25 metres and is cut by a series of gutters and ledges. Pretty corals and abundant reef fish are found at the site, as are turtles and schools of pelagic fish.

The Blowhole

Lady Elliot Island has many wonderful dive sites, but the most dramatic dive site off this coral cay would have to be The Blowhole. Located off the eastern side of the island, this spectacular L-shaped cave opens on the reef top and exits on the reef wall.

Port Bundaberg

Bundaberg, Bundaberg Area
The Burnett River flows out to sea at Burnett Heads, and just upstream is the Port of Bundaberg with its wharves and imposing sugar terminal. Here, the broad reaches of the Burnett are home to the Bundaberg Sailing Club, and as expected, there are boat ramps and car and trailer parking at the river mouth.
